Elementor #653

Hello! I’m Lindy, an Author, Artist and Teacher of the Home Arts living nestled in the woods of the Carolina Piedmont.  My passion is helping families have a harmonious home and I want to inspire you with seasonal past times, daily pleasures and holiday celebrations.

Who am I?  Well, I’m glad you asked. I am a wife of 24 years, a veteran homeschool mother, a creative and textbook Aquarian.

Like most of you, we have a busy life, full of activities.  At the end of those days where we run all over the place, there is nothing better than coming back to the home that we have created.

My tagline- Home; an island, a refuge, a haven of love, was my motto, way back when I first got married, and it still true today.

I want to help you make it your motto too.

A few random things…

I was born in Texas but only stayed there until I was three months old.   I spent the first ten years of my life in a little town called Waverly, Tennessee.

My Daddy was a big Superman fan and loved Lois Lane. That’s why my name is Lindy Laine.

My only sibling is my brother, Cameron.  He is 23 months younger than me.

When I was 10, we moved to Pigeon Forge, TN.  After living in such a small town my whole life, moving to the mountains was like moving to Disney World!

My husband and I met when we were only 15 years old.

I was voted Wittiest my senior year of High School.  I was a total class clown and a terrible student.

I was a child of the ’80s and a latchkey kid.  That’s okay, though!  My brother and I didn’t mind.  We were pretty responsible because of it.  We did watch a ton of television though… I mean, a TON!

The tagline of my blog, Home; an island, a refuge, a haven of Love, comes from The Waltons.   In the episode titled The Actress.  John boy wrote a poem in which a traveling actress performed for the family.  That poem touched me so much that I wrote it down and even recited it at my Grandmother’s funeral.  The Walton’s impacted my early life a great deal.

I love 80’s hair bands.

I am still crazy about my husband, even after 31 years!

Our three children are my greatest achievement
