Beech Mountain Getaway Weekend

This past weekend, the man of the house and I took a trip to our condo at Beech Mountain, NC. It is one of our favorite places to go. The cooler air and the mountain breezes make for a refreshing weekend getaway and I love seeing all of the spectacular flowers in bloom.

The temps were in the high 60’s so I needed a light covering on my arms. This gorgeous Bandana Oblong Scarf from Talbots worked perfectly! The periwinkle blue is a great color and I loved how there were small raspberry colored design elements in the pattern. That is why I chose my raspberry camisole top to wear.
The pants were on a sale rack at Talbots and I am so happy with the fit! They are flattering and I love the way they have a slight crop.
My talented daughter made the feather necklace that I wore!

We had dinner at the Alpen Restaurant & Bar Saturday evening. We feasted on Pecan Crusted Trout and Beef Wellington. It was the best Beef Wellington I’ve ever had! Everything was so fresh and one of my surprising favorites was the Dilled Carrots. In fact, they were so good I am making them tonight. Fresh ingredients and real butter make a huge difference when you are preparing a meal and the Alpen did not disappoint!

Sunday morning was cloudy and cool and the fog was so think that I could not get a picture of the mountains for you. As we made our way down the mountain, I noticed that the parking lot for Grandfather Mountain was completely full. I guess a lot of folks wanted a mountain getaway!

I took the opportunity to take a few pictures of the flowers for you.

The mountain air is the best for growing Dahlias. They are absolutely one of my favorites and I love the huge Dinnerplate sizes.

As always, I enjoy sharing with you and I appreciate you taking the time to visit my site.

Until next time…

xoxo,

Lindy
